unbelievably so

I am so unorganized at this point in my life. I moved a good share of stuff here, but it is all in my truck — waiting for the rain to stop. Actually at this point (9 p.m.) I am too tired to think about unloading; too bad since the bed is all wet and things are going to be soaked. One thing about being tired == you don’t worry about much.
My dog watching gig really got me off kilter. Mainly because the people told me they were coming back yesterday, but came back today. I had moved all my stuff out Saturday morning — and cleaned what little mess I had made. Then I figured out they weren’t coming back. I suspected it when they paid me for nine days, but I thought that was just a bonus or mistake.
So I didn’t sleep much last night and did not have sufficient naps today. Drives always tires me out as well. A small factor was doing grad pictures. Not a big deal, but one more thing in the realm of things. I didn’t get much sleep, since I had to get up at 5 a.m. to let the dogs out. their schedule- bed at 8:30, up at 5 a.m. Me bed at midnight, up at 7 a.m. That didn’t mesh and since I don’t like cleaning up dog poop, dogs win.
I accomplished very little last week because of that, but I did make $400. I think I will by some fishing equipment and a Weezer CD
The Mighty Tigers are tearing them up. I forget the stat for the last thirty games, but they swept the Rockies this weekend. That was the fifth series they have one in a row. Best of all they are one game over .500. That is a little ironic considering they were suppose to be way above that this year.
The plus is they are just so close to first place. I am trying to listen to the radio to see how the WhiteSox are doing. Big series starts tomorrow against the twins — who have been red hot.
If I had internet I could be listening to it now. That is part of being behind. I forgot to lineup internet, so it looks like I will be without for a few days. If I do it right, I will be in the school town.
I have been ignoring summer. I need to do some things and I am not sure if I can stay focused. Around the house: replace the broken window;, paint the trim; cut the tree/weed down; and pack things away, incase I have a tenant next fall. the woman never called me back, but is still looking. The said mentioned internet is a good example. I new I needed to do things, but couldn’t find the time to line it up. I should have because the numbers to call would be 800 and I had some time at work to do it.
I finally found a station with the game on. I think it is neat how you can pick up Chicago station on am radio late at night. I am not going to last long
I went to the Middle School meeting. I need to say once more, my school is falling apart. We have the best resource the school could have retiring, she was the middle school teacher. Then we have a one-year teacher who just doesn’t get it. Every time I mention to someone the person needs some direction the response the person has been given all the direction in the world. I just heard that another teacher might not be with us much longer and the remaining teacher is a cold fish and has no interest in being a leader. Since it is suppose to be a team, the group can’t operate as individuals, as the high school did.
The absolute saddest thing is the new Middle School English is brand new and maybe 21 years old. She doesn’t have her masters. I don’t know if she is going to be any good, but she has just stepped into a hornets’ nest.

sleeping through

Didn’t nap today, so hopefully I wll be sleeping before midnight. I am on another field trip with the middle schoolers. shouldn’t be too bad since we have four+ chaperones for 20 kids. Plus they should be running all around and tired on the way home. Weather is suppose to be good so that is good.
The Tigers lose to the Cardinals…so the friends who root for them will come out of the coop. They say nothing until their team wins.
Next day
I am so glad we are on the brink of the last day.
Had an easy hard day today. Chaperoned a little field trip. It was one of those good ones where the kids are out of school, so those that go are not ones that have to, so the tend to be much better behaved. But it felt like a long day since it was so sunny.
One of the things that I really like is it reminds me that maybe the kids at my school are jerks. The jokes that I make in my school and get rude response from — got laughs from the other school. It reminds me of a story. I was talking to the math teacher. We were complaining about our kids and she said she was getting tired of the kids turning their head so they would have to acknowledge her when she drove by.
Looks like I am up late — The Tigers had a two+ hour rain d
time for bed, Tigers win woot woot

crushing

i just sat down and I miss the internet. Maybe beer and pizza will help me to forget. Or maybe not.
I thought my drive would wake me up.
It’s the second time I’ve been in the home town in about a month and the second time I ran into the young woman from my plays. She was just a kid when we started, now I think she is in her 20’s maybe not, but her friend was buying beer. Said woman has a reputation of drinking too much, so I am not sure if I should be judgmental or not
after all she might be like me, drank one beer opened the second and fell asleep. She probably didn’t eat too much pizza though.
Up early and thinking too much. I decided that the kayak I loaded in my truck was not needed, so I took it out and in the process broke a porch window… Yet another summer project. I took the pizza box and kind of blocked the window…I just can’t get get that white trash look down.
The Tigers won the fourth in a row last night, pretty cool. It would be a turning point if they could win again tonight.
My back is kind of sore, from sleeping on the floor and hauling stuff around — and the long drive probably didn’t help. The fact I am running around handing out water will likely be difficult as well.
This is the first time I have handing out water when the racers are going towards my school town. I think it has worked out that this is the third time I have done it — first even year.
I changed the insoles in my shoes because my plantar fisticus is really flaring up. I never think that I could wear those things out, but when I compared them to another set they looked kind of beat.
During my year end review two weeks ago, my principal said I was doing ‘outstanding.’ If only I felt that way. I think I feel that way because of the inability to motivate my high school staff and the main teacher I work with in the middle school is retiring.
We had a rally for the retiring teacher and so many things were clear. First ’star’ did not get up and say anything the other English teacher who has worked with the retiring teacher and she wouldn’t say anything. The social studies teacher got up and mumbled about how she was someone he looked to as an example of how to teach. I took an unhumble delight in the fact that I was the only one who was asked for a copy of what I said. This might have been because I was the only one that had a piece of paper in my hand when I spoke.
During my yearend review, the principal said the only I could do was maybe present at conferences. I so wanted to say: “To be a presenter you really need to have a staff that will work with you so you can have good practices to use as a presentation.
A fellow SLMS who went to U@B presented at the last conference — Poetry Slams. I am sure he does an okay job, but he has several staff members who help him out. That actually do encouraging things — like bonus points. I asked the high school staff it would be possible to give out bonus points for returning books (at the end of the quarters). The response was as if I asked for a bare midriff day (for either the students or teachers — some of the teachers have a lot of midriff to bare).

another end in sight

Tomorrow is Friday whoopee
The Tigers are now in a three game skid
kind of overslept this morning. I was maybe two minutes late, though I woke up 30 minutes late. This is difficult because I don’t have much time allocated to get ready. Like about 35 minutes. Fortunately I had taken a shower the night before. On Wed. night I go to dinner with two smokers. I think they think that I don’t notice the smoke if they smoke before I get there, they are wrong.
I got a nice little nap in yesterday and today, but that contributes to stayin gup too late
I am getting headaches around 1 p.m., which is a little from stress and a lot from the lack of sleep — even with the nap.
I always think I should chart my desire, because right now I feel quite amorous. Maybe it is spring and fresh air. Or maybe it is just the frustration in my job.
I met with the high school staff to discuss study hall passes. I think it was a bit embarrasing for some to say — “Last Tuesday the principal says to start issuing passes (to keep track of students) and within ten minutes of that meeting two kids came to the library without a pass.” Of course the biggest offenders made like it was not them. Ironically the principal was not there, but the superintendent filled in for him. A couple people who mildly guilty said things, but I kept saying it wasn’t really one person, but a lot of everyone.
There were a couple questions about little things like — what if I want to have a student make copies? I pointed out that students were still roaming the halls, regardless if there is a mission or not and they end up in the library.
I have been pretty regular about my crunches, maybe I have six-pack abs under my 20 pounds of belly. I have been sore, I really hope it isn’t the cholesterol meds.
I forget if I mentioned it, but I have a cast. If this falls t though I will definitely give on on the plays. It is way too much work. I say this because I didn’t get an e-mail response from the woman who wants to do the plays. This is amazingly frustrating
Gratitude (3)
- I am grateful for the song Take the Skin Heads Bowling
- I am grateful for the after school study hall that allows me to leave before 4 p.m.
- I am grateful for being seven days from a week off.
