Just to whine

I’m all itchy from passing out water at the bike race yesterday. I guess I am okay with being alone and in the middle of the woods, but it was interesting to: a) drive back and see no one had picked up the empty waterbottles AND b) a bunch of students from my school just hanging out at the finish line. Maybe they weren’t volunteering, but if they were, they didn’t look like they were doing much

Now that I think about it I am a little more annoyed. Mostly because I had to do a lot of running around to pass out the water (and to pick up my area), which really aggravated my plantar fasciitis.

crushThe Tigers continue to win, six straight and eight of 10. Amazingly they are only five games from being .500 and six games from first place.

I made a quick trip home on Friday, did a load of laundry — finished up my laundry at the dog sitting — and mowed the grass.

Seven and a half days of school left and after Tuesday only five days with the k-5. I was amused by all the students who I would classified as — bad students — who came up to the retiring teacher and making comments on how she will miss them. She did well to keep a straight face.

Having credit card trouble. I think the bill got lost because of forwarding mail. I need to clean that up with the post office tomorrow. The card company kind of annoyed me. They have this new rule that you have to have a password. I couldn’t remember it. The woman told me until I fixed that I couldn’t use my card. I couldn’t get her to get it through her head that I was calling because I couldn’t use my card ALREADY. That was the reason I was calling! Ironically I am in the process of getting a credit card from my credit union that has an interest rate at about 40% of the current one.

Big Weekend, big deal

Big Weekend, big deal

I am so extra cold today, not sure why. It might actually be colder in here, since it is colder outside.

That is how much I got done in this blog in the last two days. I wimpered away

I did write a poem and do my taxes… I went snowshoeing today, but not much more than that.

Did I mention I hate money. I hate doing taxes and thinking about money in general, but I know I have to do this pretty soon…since I am so bad at it. I got my taxes almost done with Turbo Tax, I need to check on my insurance payment and then I will zip it off via the electronic filing. I didn’t play on doing this this year, but my accountant had a stroke, so I moved up a year.

I am doing horrible at starving. I haven’t eaten too much in the last couple days. I say, ‘too much’ because I couldn’t sleep last night and ate some peanut butter on crackers at about 4 a.m.
I h ad dreams about yelling at kids. It was kind of stressful, it made me wonder if I was going to have a stroke myself. I can’t have a stroke, I have no one to take care of me.

I did several graphics, a few ‘Easter’ oriented ones. I spent a bit of time making some Mr. Wiggles and then a Ms. Wiggles. Sometimes I will do something and then see how I can make the graphic not just slide back and forth, but also to do a little jump, then that is added. Anyhow, I like the wiggles. I also took some pictures when I went for my walk . Then I processed the pix so I could upload them to gather.

I did a little sewing project too. I love the feel of silk around my neck. I have about 12 silk shirts — now about nine. I wear then so much that they wear out, but I love them. So I make scarves — to wear around the house –o with them

tigers.jpg The Tigers were rained out today. They played three innings and former Tiger Chad Durbin pitched a three inning no hitter before he was removed. I’m listening to the Dodgers game and it is interesting, I knew that the Dodgers had a losing record in spring training and their opponents (Angels) had a winning record. That is because the announcers were saying the record doesn’t matter. They are right, but the only time they mention it doesn’t matter is when the team has a losing record. One day later and there was a 3-3 tie with Cleveland …the second tie with them this year. The spring training record slipped to 11-12 for both teams (plus several ties). We are about one week away from the first game of the season… I can’t wait.

  • I am grateful for quick sales from smalldog.com
  • I am grateful for a walk in the woods

wrapping the weekend

wrapping the weekend

I woke up today feeling good. Not great, but most importantly — not fat> I am sure I didn’t lose 40 pounds last night, but I didn’t feel bloated. I knew why, I like to snack before I go to bed and last night I did not. What happens is I feel stuffed when I wake up and hungry. And I know I need to eat in the morning or I will crash about 10 a.m.

And ironically the first thing I stumble over on yahoo: Turn Unhealthy Habits Into Healthy Ones

1) Eating late at night – make yourself a meal bedtime. Put eating to sleep at 6, or 7, or 8 o’clock, whatever is realistic for you. Make your eating bedtime at least two hours before you actually go to bed.

tigers.jpg It’s a hard habit to break. The day — some radio (npr), listened to The Tigers lose to Cleveland . Tigers did well, Kenny Rogers looked good. No runs against him, not a big deal —- a big deal would be if he got shelled for 10 runs.

I exercised a lot — push ups, squats and snowshoeing. Did some cleaning — made chili so a productive day. I also got tickets for three Tiger Games (one will be in Cleveland) so I guess really productive. Gonna wrap the night up with a new concert by Cracker on archive.org. Last few days I have been listening to a bit of Pandora.com.

deer The deer have really been hanging out around the apartment. I hope they stay for a while.

Talked to my friend — Kathy and Dave will be here on Wednesday, unless an ice storm delays them. Short week for me, since I am taking Friday off. I have the chili and chicken noodle soup already for them and we will likely eat out some. I told her about the deer, so I hope they are around. The come here to ski, but she mentioned that last year they didn’t ski at all here. They usually come to see my play, which didn’t take place this year.

I wrote one poem this weekend, but thought I would have a couple done.

Looks like I am going to make it through the night without eating. It’s 10:14 p.m. and I haven’t eatten since 7 p.m. One night doesn’t make a habit, but it does make a start.

I watch my stats a lot and visits are down some. I am not all that surprised these can been pretty boring — if not repetitive, but there are some people who come back time and time again. It seems like they aren’t around long.

That was funny…I thought I had two media sources going (archive.org and iTunes), but it was just someone in the audience talking at the Cracker concert and when the music stopped the talkers did not.

Time to read… ’star’s ‘ March reading challenge starts this week. It is kind of funny to call it hers, since the past two years I am the one who collected all the rewards — and true to form, star did not thank me. She thanked me some, but mostly it was so the students could not hear. It’s funny —- I collected (teachers donated) enough prizes that the students who met the challenge got two prizes each — and star thanked the people who scooped the ice cream. Not the librarian who wrote a letter to the Stewart’s Shop, to get it.

It is frustrating because some of what star does is deliberate and some is just her personality and it is invisible to her — what is frustrating is not knowing where one starts and the other takes off.

Gratitude (3)

  • I am grateful for new Cracker concert on archive.org.
  • I am grateful for friends who will travel to see me.
  • I am grateful that sometimes when I recommend a book — a kid reads and likes it.

okay, lets rip through

okay, lets rip through

It’s 9 p.m. and I would like to be in bed in an hour — to read some and to get some sleep. I want to get into a school routine.

judge kitty nerd monkey Went for a walk today and I knew my batteries were low, but I thought I had a couple more pictures. cjk congaWell I didn’t and it was so beautiful in the woods. O well I remember it wrote a couple poems to romance the sweetie… I hope.

I felt like I was productive today, but I am not sure if I did all that much. I forgot to mention when I was in the laundromat yesterday the owners and show person had a shouting match with a customer. The argument seemed to be about the laundromat putting extra close in the woman’s laundry. .

me dance Looks more and more like a trip to the Grand Canyon is possible. Just spend about 20 minutes looking..that and buying a fly rod. Now I need the reel and flies. It would be kind of cool to fish in the Grand Canyon, though I don’t know if that is smart or not. Looks like I am traveling alone and camping.

fly fish monkey smDarn, I am stressing myself out so close to bedtime. I want to get to sleep before long. My goofy computer…actually the monitor, but they are one in the same, has screwed up color and viewing. Arizona has someone on chat 24 hours a day — great help. Web pages try to do too much

The Tigers First games star on Tuesday — woooooo.

well enough

  • I am grateful for a nice laundromat in nearby ski town town
  • I am grateful for Itunes Alarm
