Spinning the wheels

alienbikeFinally got out on my bike. Quite surprised how easy it was.…hilly here and I thought that I might not be able to make it up some of the slopes. My knees are a bit tender, but okay.

Not sure how they will feel tomorrow and/or after volleyball tomorrow night.

I am really proud of myself, I didn’t think much about school at all. Good vacation. Of course after Monday I didn’t think about writing a scene for a musical either. I didn’t read much (but baseball forums). I wrote maybe a couple poems… I didn’t get sunburn, so all is well.

Great weather makes me lazy. I should plan on a little camping trip. Maybe in a couple weekends kayak out to an island…

tigers.jpg The Tigerslost a second one in a row. Score was 5.3, but it didn’t seem that close…really. Cleveland lost again, but I guess I need to start paying more attention to Chicago. The Big Cats are 5.5 games back of them, the same distance to a wildcard berth. The irony is I did my green sock rally tiger (Titus Tiger) once and they scored. I should start it out every inning

time to shower and sleep

Gratitude (3)

  • I am grateful for a nice bike ride
  • I am grateful for forums to blabber on
  • I am grateful for being able to open the apartment windows this weekend

One more

One more

tigers.jpg The Tigers didn’t score runs and they lost, 3-2. considering Jeremy Bonderman kept Toronto to three runs was impressive, considering how many runners were on base and he got out of jams.

It was an exciting game, that I thought they were going to come back and win. But it was deflating to lose, had they won, the Big Cats would have moved into a tie with Cleveland. Of course this means they are still in last place. Hopefully tomorrow they win and start a string of victories.

It is really dry here. I went for a small walk in the woods, thinking it would be dry… well it is a swamp behind my school appartment. That said, most of the forest surface I stepped on that wasn’t water cracked under foot. There is a burn band on in the Adirondacks and for good reason.

I am so enjoying the nice weather and no school. it would be hard for me to find another profession that didn’t give me so much time off.

Back to school next week— pay week. The following week I go to a conference, but I think I will not leave school early. I forget, but I think I am off Friday — and suppose to leave on Thursday night. Returning on Saturday.

My potential trip to the Grand Canyon was maybe for the better. The weather there is like it is here. That is nice and warm in the Day, but very cool at night. I wouldn’t want to camp with the weather near freezing.

It’s late but since I don’t have school tomorrow — maybe a couple G&Ts.

Just had a weird thought about romance. I look at the yahoo personals from time to time and for the most part am not interested in the women in my age category… (The fact that I still pine for a woman in buff of low, is a big factor.) I was thinking a couple things: first I wonder if local women — those born here, actually place personals. that is because I really think people who are born in small towns down care to broaden their circle of friends (and maybe that includes love life). The second thing I thought — why doesn’t seem like more people would be compatible if they chose to live here. My thinking is you kind of have to choose this place (if you move here). Does that make you more compatible? When I lived in Toledo there were thousands of women that would be suitable for me, but are their just as many compatible women since there are things that really make it so I don’t want to leave here…?

Gratitude (3)

  • I am grateful for a pharmacist that explains things, even when you have the same medication, but the dosage is changed
  • I am grateful for the fresh air of the Adirondacks
  • I am grateful for being so relaxed after several days off.

Another hang of snow today. I would say I have woken to beauty outside my window (that is— idyllic snow scenes) about 12 times this year.

xo danceMy friends from Toledo are here so this will be short. I guess I should have made use of the XO computer and wrote this from the laundromat yesterday. I was doing my laundry while they skied. I read some as well. I think the fact that I did that and we watched a movie last night — contributed to my sore back today.

I need to ramble into breakfast — I am hungry. I’ve already eatten/drank too much in the time they have been here. I pretty much only eat certain things when I am on vacation or people are visiting me. One of the are eggs. I tend to not eat them. I’m in my typical vacation mode. Up, big breakfast and then desiring a nap.

dno deer outside, but it is kind of wet and snowy. If the deer were smart they would be hiding under a big balsam tree.

our plans are to take a small trip — which will include borrowing some snowshoes — and if the weather remains nasty just driving, if it clears up going for a snowshoe hike. I don’t suspect a nap is involved. I think we might watch a bit more of “Richman Poorman” on the computer. Odd thing is, this dvd that I gave my friend will not work on a regular dvd player, but will work on my computer.

I guess I will pay some bills and get ready to do.

tigers.jpg The Tigers did well yesterday — or at least Ivan ‘Pudge’ Rodriguez did well, Kenny Rogers did not, but the Tigers won (9-6 over the tigers)

Gratitude (3)

  • I am grateful for fun with friends
  • I am grateful for getting the laundry done
  • I am grateful for beautiful scenery

writing before bed

writing before bed

I didn’t do much for Winter Carnival. I walked to the palace and watched the parade. Fortunately this cold happens after the parade. I used to think I did a good job announcing the parade, but boy did the women who announced it yesterday do a baaaaad job. Goofy stupid things like announcing: “Looks like it is going to snow,” after it has been snowing for about 10 minutes.

But beyond that the parade was pretty good. I watched it with a couple friends, though I would prefer to walk around. I was dressed just about right for the event. I was nippy at the end, but after going inside for about 10 minutes I was okay and walked back to a nap.

I was pretty sleepy yesterday and I think it is because I was taking the Loratadine (claritin). It did help me deal with the pack of animals they have where I was staying (three dogs and four ferrets)

I didn’t see the palace at night, but maybe that will happen in eight days when I take care of my appointments. I did get most of what I wanted to do. I couldn’t get to Radio Shack, they opened later than I had time to visit today. That is something that will be easy to do on the 18 or the 21st when I go book shopping and eye doctor town.

It is spirit week next week and I get to dress up most of the days, which is kind of easy for me. o o well night

Gratitude (3)

  • I am grateful for the beautiful setting of snow on trees
  • I am grateful for a fun Parade
  • I am grateful for a nice Ice Palace
