Time to write wrongs

Silly day in the library. My aide — who is in her 40’s — had a couple giggle fits. She has been in laughing moods before, but today was tops. I know what she was laughing at, but not so much why she found it soooo funny.

The joke mostly revolved around ’star.’ I had been complaining about star and telling some stupid stories that I had heard — how mean or insensitive star had been. During which I mentioned that I would probably go to the team meeting that star pushes and shoves here way around.

An hour later the aide says — you still have about 10 minutes left of that meeting if you go now. She adds as a joke: “take your keys.” because star keeps her room locked, so you have to either unlock the door or wait for someone to let you in. Not thinking I grab my notebook and walk down to star’s room (yes it’s in her room.)

Once there, the door is open, and I walk in. There is no one there, but star. I ask about the meeting and she says: “It’s not happening for another 10 minutes.” She adds that is going to be a meeting with a student’s parents. Sort of a precaution for me to not come — about 90 percent of the times they are meeting with parents I have nothing to offer, and usually when I do it is: “O and your kid also acts like a jerk in the library.”

So I walk back to the library and say: “This is still ‘C’ period, the meeting doesn’t start for another 10 minutes. When I told the aide this she just started laughing and didn’t stop for about 20 minutes. She imagined I walked into a classroom full of students — which wasn’t the case.

I told the aide I had the same look on my face when I walked in the room as the kid who said: “how did it feel to touch boobie” two Fridays ago.

It’s cold tonight, minus four already, I need to head to bed — took a nap and not really tired, but sleep is needed. I have a conference tomorrow, but I still need to get to work on time. The front windshield is suppose to be replaced, but I have a feeling that might not happen.

Gotta go wrap this up, piddled around too much

bobo gets lucky

bobo gets lucky

goose cricketThe principal let me know that he question one of the kids on the bus (last Friday) and he confessed to ‘touching boobie.’

The more I think about this, the more ironies there are. First BoBo was moved up to the varsity team, but the two other ninth graders were not. Now Bobo is older than the other two, but that is because he flunked a class — he is close to flunking again. So the let him ride with the team and rides home on the spectator bus and makes out with the school sleazy girl.

What is kind of funny, to me, the principal interviewed BoBo. I think it was the only person or first person he interviewed. Now it might be because the principal feels like he has a good relationship with BoBo and could get honest response.

monkey st patsI love looking at the media coverage of the primaries. I guess you could say it is my interpretation, but from what I see is various people making comments about things didn’t happen. Like various people saying that one or the other clearly won. I also find that who is in the lead in the polls doesn’t really mean a lot — except to the pundits.

Right now they are almost equal in delegates. And if they say that Hilary is leading in the polls — we are talking less than 10 percent. The same is true the other way around. I think Obama is winning in Texas, but we are talking about a few thousand people one way or another. And overall about the same number of people support each.

Might be a snow day tomorrow. It started snowing this morning and it hasn’t stopped, isn’t suppose to stop until 7 p.m. tomorrow. These kinds of days are unsettling, everyone was in the mindset there will be no school tomorrow, but if there

tigers.jpg My lesson on Boolean search worked well with the fourth grade, Thursday I will try it on the fifth graders and next week the seventh graders. I used a vin diagram

tigers.jpg The Tigers beat a c0llege team, better than losing to a college team, but it will be better if they bet the mets tomorrow.

  • I am grateful for all the excitement around the Tigers
  • I am grateful for someone buying me Tigers tickets for this summer
  • I am grateful for dreams of a snow day.

okay, lets rip through

It’s 9 p.m. and I would like to be in bed in an hour — to read some and to get some sleep. I want to get into a school routine.

judge kitty nerd monkey Went for a walk today and I knew my batteries were low, but I thought I had a couple more pictures. cjk congaWell I didn’t and it was so beautiful in the woods. O well I remember it wrote a couple poems to romance the sweetie… I hope.

I felt like I was productive today, but I am not sure if I did all that much. I forgot to mention when I was in the laundromat yesterday the owners and show person had a shouting match with a customer. The argument seemed to be about the laundromat putting extra close in the woman’s laundry. .

me dance Looks more and more like a trip to the Grand Canyon is possible. Just spend about 20 minutes looking..that and buying a fly rod. Now I need the reel and flies. It would be kind of cool to fish in the Grand Canyon, though I don’t know if that is smart or not. Looks like I am traveling alone and camping.

fly fish monkey smDarn, I am stressing myself out so close to bedtime. I want to get to sleep before long. My goofy computer…actually the monitor, but they are one in the same, has screwed up color and viewing. Arizona has someone on chat 24 hours a day — great help. Web pages try to do too much

The Tigers First games star on Tuesday — woooooo.

well enough

Let’s pop

Let’s pop

Not going to get much in, short day, long night.

The boys basketball team won, so they will move on and play on Wednesday. It was kind of a close game against a team that they have beat two times already. I am not sure why we don’t play that well, we definitely have one of the better teams. I know one thing that seems to be true for both the boys and girls (girls were eliminated on Friday) and that is we shoot about 35 percent.

The other thing is that the boys team depend on a coach to tell them what to do. Most of the players will not shoot unless the coach says (form the sideline) to shoot. Some of that has to do with they have plays designed for a certain player to shot. Most of the other teams seem to have plays set up so any three players can shot depending on how the play is defended.

I am over my cold and started to exercise again. Not much but some.

I feel a little bad about a flippant comment I made yesterday. A woman (mother of one of two girls I coached on softball) complimented me on the web site that I maintain. I responded with “sure.” I didn’t mean to belittle her comment, but it seemed to slip out of my mouth. I changed it to thank you, but her face dropped when I said, ’sure.’ I think it came out me for several reasons. One was this was the third PTSO person to say the same thing in the last week, so I was thinking that some how the PTSO had decided they were all going to say ‘good job’ to me. Another reason is the fact that I know it is good, but I just figure when you do something you try to do it as well as you can. The web page is one of my highlights at my school for me.

The funny thing and another reason is one of the girls was kind of lurking behind her mom and listening to the conversation, but standing out of the thrust of it. It further put in my mind that the Mom was mocking me. It was the daughter who her dad told me when I was instructing her to do something that she thought I was mocking her. Irony of ironies is the fact that she is the last person on the team I would mock.

In fact the daughter is one of the kids I have the most respect for.

Another reason for my casualness is the fact that I am a little annoyed that at my school the people that should be doing things don’t, so others have to step in and do it. I should have been happy for the compliment, since often if you do something it is just taken for granted and then expected of you to continue to do.

Gratitude (3)

  • I am grateful for the cold being over
  • I am grateful for compliments
  • I am grateful for doing a job well — I do take joy in that.
