o the pain

Another hockey night…ugh. Fun but tiring.
I have a road trip schedule tomorrow, but there is suppose to be some snow coming our way. Only 3-5 inches, but I guess it matters how fast it comes. I want to do this trip, even if it is 1.5 hours one way
For one thing I will be glad to be out of my school ’star’ has really being an idiot of late. I kind of thought my aide was indifferent about it, but when I went to lunch today, star started complaining about me. Her concern is for the kids, but there she is complaining about me, while her students work on research. When star left the aide complained a lot about star. I was kind of surprised, because I really thought the aide just let it rolled off her back.
I’m not going to make it much further than here. I do know someone has to put star in her place.

Well the primaries got interesting. Not just the McCain win. I am not sure how much Giuliani throwing his support to McCain will help. That is what the radio is reporting.
I would love to see a report every December about how many times the ‘experts’ are wrong. Like if I say —” I think the patriots will win Sunday” I should post that I was WRONG on Monday if they don’t win. I know sports isn’t the world, but it is amazing how many times they are wrong. My favorite/hated thing how after predicting wrong last weekend, they go at it again this weekend.
Nice day today. The fourth graders were spot on. I hope it wasn’t because the one kid I have problems with wasn’t there. I really hope that kid doesn’t have so much influence.
Looks like I am going to take over typing class for fourth and fifth graders. The business teacher doesn’t do much of a job with the kids and it is so frustrating how little the kids know about keyboarding when I need them to type.
Of course I need to learn how to do the typing programs. o well

- I am grateful for when kids want to ramp up— o yea

Not sure how much I can get in here. somewhat late.
There was a conference today and I would have to say in three years it was the best conference I have been to. They did what few teachers or presenters have done — they practiced what they preached. For example teachers/presenters are always talking about you should not let you students sit for more than 20 minutes, but then they will lecture to you for two hours. These two ladies did not.
It was a bit long and it made me wonder how do students make it through learning for all that time
Volleyball was fun tonight, since I was on a team that used all three hits much of the time.
I had a headache today, but I think some of that was due to not getting enough sleep last night. A nap was nice.
Well I did stick in the big graphic to take up space, but I got nothing left.
Gratitude (3)
- I am grateful for a good conference
- I am grateful for playing on a volleyball team that bump, set spike
- I am grateful for getting to do the school’s web page

ending the day with you — enough is tonight

Hey it is mofo’s birthday..wonder how she is doing. I think about being a public librarian, but I like the time off that a SLMS gets.
If this is going to happen, I need to start writing. I started this yesterday, but basically logged the sit-ups I did and that was it. One of the problems with the computer for me is when I am on it, I am multi-tasking. For example:
I have 15 programs running. Many are kind of background things, like a weather reader (it’s cloudy and 18 degrees), but others are waiting for me to do something. Like the omni focus program. Often I have t his program (Nisus Writer Pro) with a blog template open, waiting
With NWP I usually have a file that has the formating for all my little animated gifs I use. I use them mostly when I am posting comments on gather. Probably the worse thing is I often have a coupe browsers open, checking different e-mail accounts. And accounts that seldom need to be concerned about. And I check my blog often to see if people from Rochester have visited.
Now is a good example. I slipped over to look at gather comments and surfed and commented for about 10 minutes. No big deal, but sometimes that turns into an hour
I want sushi, maybe when I am at the conference Friday I can look for a place.
Listening to Camper Van Beethoven on archive.org. I love the song White Right.
I walked to school and didn’t have much to do and I realized that I am not going to be in school on Friday, but introduced a lesson (by chance) to the second graders that will be perfect for a sub to fill in for me.
I need to write a YA novel this summer. It is the one way it would make it easy for me to get out of the yelling at kids profession.
I have a wonderful week ahead of me. No kids on Monday or Friday. Volleyball Monday, Quilting Tuesday and Hockey on Thursday. I might be beat up, but I will be better for it.
The primaries would be so much better if they weren’t covered by the attack dog news media. I was watching the BBC and they get less excited over a whole country in a drought, than the US media does over a guy not being allowed to drink a beer on Sunday.
Obama won… I am really in the anyone but a republican support right now — though I could tolerate McCain. I am almost wanting to campaign for McCain, just so the other republicans don’t get in. I am amazed at home much Romney has waffled and no one has said much.
After listening to football playoffs for two weeks, it was kind of a detox weekend — as far as the pigskin goes. Which reminds me. I forget the exact thing that happened, but I had a class going — and they were humming because they all wanted to get some points so they wouldn’t have to spend time after school… So one girl was raising her hand to get points and the answer was what is leather made of and she said “pigs.” Which I guess isn’t all wrong, but the best thing was she has a good sense of humor — have to love it when a fifth grader can laugh a herself.
enough is tonight
