I bought a bunch of candy and no kids showed up. Three middle schoolers, but that was it. I left around 6:20 p.m., so if anyone showed up after that… who knows
Good day at school.
One or two candies and then to bed to read and sleep. I napped yesterday, but was still away at 2 a.m. I don’t want to do that again
Still listening to “To Kill a Mocking Bird” and reading the Jackie Robinson Bio — not both at the same time.
I don’t know what I am going to do…with out Pixen. It is very difficult to make animations without it.

Okay, Cracker
October 30, 2007 at 11:41 pm | In Blog Babble, Holiday, Nisus Writer Pro, fat old guy | No CommentsOkay, Cracker
So I am listening to Cracker again. It is a concert from Racine, WI on archive.org. I have decided I really need to go see the band live, since I have listened to them live about 100 times (at least). Two summers ago they were in Albany at a time that would have worked for me to see them, but I passed.
Nice easy day at school. The fourth grade is pretty good and the Kindergartners are nice — though they were read to by the Library Aide. I let her read to them a lot, since it is the only class she has any chance to have contact with them, except brief moments to check their books in and out.
Took a great nap today. Which was smart, because I had cold like symptoms today and likely am a bit run down.
I worked out some and am enjoying a glass of wine. If I can stop eating past 10 p.m. I think I can lose weight, but after a glass of wine I want to eat.
The day had a funny start. I jumped out of the shower and went to work. The reading teacher took a look at me and I realized I didn’t beat my hear into place. It was standing on end.
On the Nisus I found a ‘find’ macro, that makes it easier to ‘find’ things. Time to read.… I am reading: “Opening Day: The Story of Jackie Robinson’s First Season” it’s a great book.

To be a writer or not to be a writer.

I met with the actors today and it was so disappointing. First what everyone said to me is they don’t want to come to a 14 minute meeting. They they tell me they don’t want to come to the meeting because they don’t want to do a play.
I am pissed at the lack of appreciation from the students. There were three kids in the production who’s moms are teachers, there are are two more kids in the production who’s moms are staff members. Only one of these five kids have made an effort to thank anyone involved. I feel like singling out all these parents and mentioning how they are raising their kids.
One of the five kids, her mom was the assistant director. On top of this, the girl did not come to the meeting. So that mother can be in charge of the play next year. She won’t have to write it, she can get it off the internet or something.
It has turned cold — it’s 39 outside, with an expected low of
I miss baseball already.
The Tigers just traded some good prospects for Edgar Renteria, who I think is a hack. I guess he is good, but it seems every time I have seen him in a clutch situation, he didn’t come through. Maybe this will be the team. The problem is they traded away Jair Jurrjens, who I thought was going to be a great asset to the Tigers.
Good news on the tech front, I got m iKey software to work, it is a shorcut program that allows you to open up files or software with keystrokes, like this template for doing a blog is shift-opt F1.
Listening to the Smashing Pumpkins on archive.org, seems fitting for the season.

Time to start anew
October 28, 2007 at 9:33 pm | In Baseball, Blogging, Music | No CommentsTime to start anew
I’m listening to the radio station that plays the kind of music I was forced to listen to when I was 10 and sick. Dean Martin is singing right now. The public radio station is out. I think it is because there was a power outage last night. It isn’t so much I dislike the music, I have had enough of it for ‘normal’ listening. That is if was in a play or movie to set the mood, fine. Right now I don’t need to remember the music adults listened to in 1962.
Of course this is typical of all formats. Yes this music was played in the early 60’s, but there were other songs mixed in. (Now Frank Sinatra is singing ‘The Lady is a Tramp’) Back then there were even more sappy songs like Dean and Frank singing Beatles’ songs. Now a days singing a song about a woman being a ‘tramp’ and not hanging with ‘the other broads’ sounds pretty jaded. On the other side, they are playing Elton John, who I know did not get played on these stations because he was too flamboyant.
Okay, so I am sitting here — a little tired —- feeling fat and wanting to eat more. I need to get on a program to revive my life. Better eating and better exercise. Well time to get moving

Jeez, I want Colorado to win and of course not only do the RedSox have a 3-0 game lead in the series, they jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game four
