Woke up in time for my doctor appointment. Actually– more a Nurse Practitioner appointment.

Lawyers, that is what I think after my orientation appointment — to learn about a colonoscopy. I had to sign no less than four documents saying I would not sue or skip out on my bill. Funny, either they are afraid I will not take their money or give them my money.

One of the things I find amazing is the general information that is collected, but not openly shared. They take your blood pressure and pulse, but don’t tell you those numbers unless you ask. Not only do I want to know what it is, but I would like for them to tell me: “Hey it’s up 12 beats.” Or, “Hey, did you change your diet, you lost five pounds.”

Got some groceries and my advair script filled. plus took a couple pictures. I should have rode my bike….I want to collect some angels to put on the Lizzie Oliver grave site. Be nice to put them there before August 19.

Looks like this might be a record month for hits on this site. Not sure what to make of that — since about 98 percent of all visits are drive through.

Okay, what is going to happen tonight.……

tigers.jpg The Tigers are depending on Jordon Tata to turn things around. And it turns out they got the goods from him.

I had to add Jordan Tata to my list of Tiger players. He did excellent — pitched seven innings and only gave up two runs. sTODDgy Jones gets to work some. First guy singles, second guy hits into a double play. sTODDgy gets the save — yahoo.

Curtis Granderson has been lights out. He was 3 for 5 and scored each time he was on.

Ah… First Place. Cleveland is off and the Tigers have now played the same number of games as the Indians and have a one-game lead over them. Minnesota won and are in the hunt — seven games back.

Standings is a reason the Big Cats need to win. In the wild card race, there are a few teams in striking distance. It would be easy to not worry about that by winning the AL Central, but means they need to win some games.

a killer stretch

a killer stretch

tigers.jpg The Tigers There is little jumping for joy of late for the tigers.

They ended up losing 13-4. Jeremy Bonderman was horrible. He ptiched 2.1 innings and gave up 11 runs hard to be much worse than that. On top of that Kenny Rogers, who hasn’t pitched all that well, is on the disable list.

Hard as it is to believe, the Big Cats are still in First place, because the Cleveland Indians have been playing as bad as the Tigers. I don’t know how, since the Detroiters have lost eight of the last 11.

And few starters have gone more than six innings. It is unbelieveable how the ‘best team in baseball’ has played since the all star break.

I got to use my different software to make pictures, and to have a faster computer and my own connection to the internet. Even if ti is to listen to the tigers lose.

I mowed the grass, but not much else. I didn’t even unpack. I guess I exercised some, but I didn’t take advantage of the nice day — but to post my vacation pictures on gather.

I am wrapping the night with some of a Cracker Duo concert on archive.com (recorded eight days ago New Jersey), and I will continue to read a bicycle travel book I am working on. I will get the name another day.

da library

da library

another day at the library, rode my bike here though and plan to ride over to the Miracle Mile shopping center to devour a cappuccino from Tim Horton’s. Oddly enough there were free computers — no waiting. I don’t mind the waiting; it gives me a chance to read the paper. The ride won’t be too far, and after the caffeine jolt I might fly back

I often read the paper to check up on the Tigers, which I could do on the Internet, but the Blade is fun to read.

Now here is something new, one guy is on the personals end of the internet, but the other is actually applying for a job — o but 10 minutes later, he is on the personal page too. I am wondering how I am perceived by them.

My favorite guy is back today and now next to me, it is fast on the IM and now he is checking the cell phone to see who he needs to contact. I wonder if this library has that ‘watch’ software where they can just eaves drop on a screen, seems like that would be smart thing to do — Not because of anyone next to me, but just as a precaution.

This is a no-breeze (actually low-breeze) computer (#8), but the keys stick on the computer. Not sure how this is going to work, I don’t have the usb memory and I am restricted from saving, so I guess this is going to be posted or in draft form somewhere.

I am really missing having my own computer… Like I would like to draw an animated picture of a woodpecker…

The Tigers were able to win last night — though it wasn’t so easy, now if they will in the afternoon game today, they will have won the series. Maybe the relief pitching will stumble some more and I will do 1,000 crunches. So I am at the halfway mark — 30 minutes left. And my coffee cells are longing for the java. font> I like the news/entertainment story about the at
that is in a nursing home that cuddles with the people who are going to die. Perhaps they call him ‘father thom’ the reincarnation of a priest.

tigers.jpg The Tigers are breaking my heart. It’s not that they are necessarily playing bad, just not closing things out. They had a 3-2 lead in the eighth, but Verlander gave up a hit, Bobby Seay walked the one guy he faced and Zach Miner walked the first guy he faced. When your relievers walk the first two guys they face it is not a relaxing afternoon for the fans. Then a double play, scores one to make it 3-3 and now it is ninth inning. Ugh!

I’m listening to the end of the game (4:36 p.m.) at my friend’s house. It’s every so annoying. It doesn’t seem like there were many Tigers games where the Big Cats are in complete control. I think maybe worse thing about the team now is not the one-run games (including the losses), but the fact that they haven’t been rallying from 4-5 runs down.

That said, it is really tough to go through these close games. Especially when the pitchers give up walks or no out base hits to start the 9th inning. Like what are the Big Cats doing — handing first place over to Cleveland.

On my cappuccino ride I got a chicken wrap and went over to a ball field to eat. It was a nice sunny ride/lunch. By taking back roads I didn’t hit much traffic. At the ball field there a little bike/walking path that cirled the field. Maybe go ride on it tomorrow.

Haven’t written much about the Tour de France, I an not even sure what to rant about — the drug use is rampant. More to the point is the ability to catch the cyclist and they continue to try to get away with it.

Well don’t that beat all, man on first, a bunt and Zack Miner throws it away. Yes we are handing first place to the Indians, might as well hand out the wildcard slot too. I need a couple Gin & Tonics, but it is just too early and time to walk to the library.

Gratitude (3)

  • I am grateful for a nice bike ride to Tim Horton’s for a cappuccino.
  • I am grateful for PePe’s Mexican restaurant.
  • I am grateful for a computer at the host’s house to type the end of this posting.

man with the cross

man with the cross

There is a guy who carries a cross in front of the abortion clinic, near where my friend lives. I kind of admire him, though I probably disagree with him politically. I admire anyone who will dedicate that much of his life to protest what he doesn’t believe in — what he actually thinks is morally wrong. I am not sure I would carry the cross. I guess that is another reason why it would be tough for me to be a Super Hero.

So, I guess, if you aren’t doing the IM, you are searcing the myspace pages for members of the other gender. At least that is what the guy next to me is doing. It seems like these computers should have the urinal set ups —- where there is a mini-wall between the patrons so there is some privacy in an un-private place. I singed up for the wrong computer — that is one that doesn’t have internet on it. Oops I am wrong, you just have to work the system to get to it.

I need the word-processing software, to print out my friend’s resumè, but mostly I want to check e-mail and post this, of course I need some word-processing to do that…. Of course I think all the computers have word processing and internet, you just need to figure a way to get to it.

They kicked some kids out of here, which surprised me. There is a sign at every computer letting you know there is ‘only one person per computer’ and ’No Exception’ is in red just so you know they aren’t fooling. That said, it is the first time I have seen them enforce the rule. Actually I don’t think the three were kicked out because of too many to a computer. I think it was more a cause of miss-use. When I came over to the computer they had been turned off. I think they might had been turning off each other’s computers and —- worse —- giggling about it.

Not sure if I think if it is all that bad but most of the non-adults have headsets on. These are either connected to the computer so you can hear the myspace songs or to an iPod.

O — now I am reminded I am about a month away from returning to work.. Good Golly. I am out of the helpful stage of my job. That is I am not jumping up helping people find 627.3 or shouting out an author people can’t remember — but on my internal ‘Jeopardy’ game I am doing that.

I am down to 24 minutes —- I am hungry and want a nap, so I might not be here much longer. Hmmm, the breeze just kicked up, I didn’t notice it from this seat. Not bothering my eyes.

tigers.jpg The Tigers frustrate me. Ugh!

There was a double header and they lost. I think they have lost three of five games played since I have been here. It’s turning me off to baseball. I am not sure if I want to watch Cleveland play — though I have to say as frist place goes, the Tigers are still there. Partially because the Indians are not taking advantage of the Big Cats stumbling. The Detroiters can still win the series with the White Sox, but they have to win the next two games.

And the Mudhens lost last night in the game we attended.

I have been successful in making a denstist appointment. Clearly my interests in writing a play are pretty lame –> as in lame O.
