tonight needs to be quick

palace.jpgWent to the hometown after a school meeting and just got home at 10:10 p.m. I had trouble getting up this morning and I am kind of tired.

It was a long drive home, but a beautiful one. The night school is bright and I could have driven with my lights out.

tigers.jpg There is little more than 14 hours until the first spring training game — against the Mets no less. I like the Mets but there are a lot of kids who root for the Mets that I tease at school. Most who are on the Elementary Basketball Team.

Gratitude (3)

  • I am grateful for dinners with friends
  • I am grateful for being able to laugh
  • I am grateful for the fact that lots of librarians are retiring

tuned into the Zen Tricksters on archive.org — a jam band. A jam band is good to listen to when you kind of want to zone out.

I’m behind in general things — the class I am taking and just cleaning around the house. I hope to squeeze that in tomorrow night and Thursday before my friends show up.

I want to read some and hopefully be in bed before midnight.

o so tired

o so tired

It’s funny, no exercise to night, but I feel like I walked four miles. Maybe I did, for the game I must have sat down and stood up about 100 times. It was an elementary basketball game and we faired about as well the first time we played Long Lake. I would say that maybe we did a little worse. ball jump.gifWe started slow, then came back fairly strong.

I rode the bus and that was a bit tiring.

The first day of school wasn’t too bad. A few things to sort out, but as I mentioned yesterday it was good that I didn’t have any classes. Went to a Middle School meeting and now I get to go on a field trip next week to see a play or something.

This is a stupid thought, but I don’t get it. I was talking about it yesterday with a friend. If most of the explosions in Iraq are triggered with Cell phones, why aren’t they tracking down the cell phones. Why isn’t any one meeting with Frank and wondering why he has bought 27 cell phones in the last month, maybe revoke his Sam’s Club card or something.

Gratitude (3)

  • I am grateful that if I want I can go to bed right now.
  • I am grateful for the bean, cheese and lettuce wrap.
  • I am grateful achive.org

I am so tired I am not sure I can even listen to much more of this Archive.org concert of Camper Van Beethoven.

on to go

on to go

1toe_11.gifI did about nothing during this vacation — I am the king of slackers. I — unfortunately — get antsy at this point of vacation. I haven’t done anything and get feeling fairly guilty and a little resentful because I can’t go back and re-do the days.

tigers.jpgThis week softball begins and basketball begins to wind down. AND Spring training games start this week. When my friends come they are bring the Tigers baseball caps I bought on Ebay around xmas time.

Listening to Jimmy Buffet tonight — no Archive.org

It’s oscar night and I thought there might be a live broadcast on the internet. I am not sure why people aren’t getting the clue why they don’t broadcast the events like this (I thought the same about the Superbowl). They don’t have to do a different broadcast, just feed the regular abc broadcast, complete with commercials all. They would get a few more listeners.

Gratitude (3)

    monkey.gif

  • I am grateful I am fairly computer literate
  • I am grateful that I get to coach kids, almost everyday there is something amusing about it *
  • I am grateful that my Monday does not have an Elementary class — so I begin the week with sort of a planing day.

* During the elementary basketball game one of the twins on the team comes up to me and says: “Can I play defense.”

“What?” I respond and add that she has to play defense everything she is out on the court. She responds with “No I want to play defense.” at that point I kind of figure to that in the excitement of playing she has lost track of words. Finally — after a few minutes — she says, “can I be a ball hander, that is what I mean.”

Don’t have much rambling to do tonight, so maybe I will end here — I do hae my gratitude filled in! I should edit, just for you dear reader to understand — but then I would have to acknowledge that others read this

vaca almost over

I celebrated the last official day of vacation (can’t really call the weekend part of a vacation) with a nap. I nice wonderful two hour nap. When I got home today I had an email from a library friend letting me know that there is a library job near the hometown. Not around the corner, but about 40 minutes away. A bigger school.

I think I will apply for it, but not sure what is in it for me, I think they have to pay more — can’t pay less than where I am. The good thing about a bigger school is the fact that there isn’t just one teacher per subject, so if you can’t convince one to work with you, then you have one or two others to work with.

Played with graphics more, and didn’t do anything with my class. I moved the two beds together so when my friends visit next Thursday they will sort of have a kingsize bed. Next Tuesday is dinner rehearsal.

Another Cracker achrive.org concert — they are wired in this one

not much exercise today — had to walk back and forth between my truck and house to unload the things I got from the hometown. The hard part was getting out of my house. The snow was above my knees and worse — snow got in my boots. It was pretty cold — as snow goes.

Gratitude (3)

  • I am grateful that my allergies/asthma is much better than it was 10 years ago
  • I am grateful that I have loved and been loved
  • I am grateful that I can entertain myself

Perhaps I entertain myself too much! Off to bed to read. Have to be ready for Basketball and those who want to practice.
