Went out and did some grocery shopping.
There were lots of people walking around town. I wasn’t sure what was up with that, and I am not used to seeing lots of people. It was either tourists in town (during the day tourist are out on the lakes or hiking); or everyone waiting to it was cool, since it was hot and humid today.
I felt kind of off-kilter. I shop later at night thinking I won’t see people, then there are people all around. When you add that I spend about 90 percent of my time alone I am a little off.
Enjoying a Gin & Tonic (bought limes). I think it is the heat that makes a G&T appealing. I heard somewhere that the Gin&Tonic was developed in India to fight Malaria, (quinine in tonic). I am not sure if there is a direct correlation, but it is hot and I think of India as hot, not to mention I am ready the book “Holy Cow,” by Sarah MacDonald.
Even to drink a G&T, I don’t know why anyone would go to India. I’ve read a couple travel books from there and it just seems disgusting.
Woo wooo Tigers just rallied in the eighth inning to come back to a 4-3 lead.
Now the Tigers are on a rampage in the ninth inning. Two more runs and it is 8-3. That might even been enough of a lead for Todd Jones. I should ease off of Jones, he has been doing pretty good the last couple times. Sean Casey is up with bases loaded. I like reading about him, he always says kind of funny stuff. I think he might be kind of a goof, but in a good way.
Dinner with friends tomorrow.
Tigs win. I am a little tired. I can’t figure it out. I went to bed at 4 a.m. and woke at 10 a.m. I would think six hour nights would make me want to nap, but I seem to be okay. Maybe I have thrown my nap time schedule off.
